I'm only human

I strayed from my workouts a little this weekend. I didn't fall completely off the wagon, I just had a wedding to go to in Chicago, so I found other things to do to keep moving. I danced at our friend's wedding, wore heels (and never took them off), and spent a while playing with another friend's two year old - picking him up, putting him down, chasing after him, and doing a few squats with him in my arms.

That being said, I didn't get up and do my workout this morning like I was supposed to. Not sleeping well this weekend made sleeping in til 7 sound like an awesome idea, even though my alarm went off at 6. Tomorrow, I will force myself to get up. Tonight, I plan to use my morning workout as a warm up to this evening's workout. One day, I hope to be as good as my friend, Lauren, who gets up at the [ungodly] hour of 4:30 to be at the gym by 5. I'll be happy if I can be up by 5:30 and working out in my living room.

Playing with Brandon this weekend reminded me that my fitness goals are not just for me. I want to be fit for a healthy pregnancy in the next year, and to continue to workout on a daily basis so our child knows that moving is not only good for you, but can also be fun. I was not raised this way - my parents and I laid around and watched TV or read. I did play outside and was more active when I was younger, but I was not pushed outside to play. I plan to shove our kid out to play in the yard, and get away from the TV. My health and fitness journey is not just for me, it is for our future child.
