I have had some trouble this month when it comes to working out. I've fought with myself to get out of bed, and even skipped the 5:30 alarm for an extra 30-50 minutes of shut eye. Thanks to the candy from Christmas and now Valentine's in our house, I also fell off the healthy eating bandwagon. Part of me blames the stress of becoming a homeowner (closing in 11 days!), as I sleep when I get stressed. That being said, I decided this morning that enough is enough. After half-assing my PiYo workout Sunday morning, I've decided another part of my problem is doing the same thing day after day. 16 weeks is much too long for a workout program, in my opinion, so although I plan to do PiYo when I get home tonight, I punched this morning in the face with a 7 minute HIIT workout that I found on the app store. It's called '7 Minute Workout', and I found it by just doing a search for workout programs for women within the app store. In this workout this morning, I did jumping jacks, crunches, lunges, squats, planks, wall sits, push ups, and something I'd never heard of where you do a pushup, then turn it into a side plank for a second or two. And that's just the beginner thread. My hope is that I can get myself revved in the morning by doing this, then following it up in the evening with PiYo or Les Mills to get the full workout for the day.
When I got to work this morning, I realized there was something growing in the bottom of my water bottle that I had forgotten to both empty and take home to wash on Friday, so I went to the little cafe we have in the building and bout a 34 oz Smart Water. I'm hoping to have this bad boy finished off before I go home tonight, and drink one a day.
Once it warms up outside, I plan to start the program Couch to 5k, where it takes you from a non-runner to a runner in a matter of a few weeks. Since we're getting a dog, I figure running will help expend some of her energy, and keep us both in shape. Right now, 10 degree weather is what I consider a bit too chilly to go jogging in, let alone walking.
I already signed up for and am paying for my boudoir photo shoot in a few months, so it's definitely time for a transformation.
